Traditional Braces

Braces are a time-tested treatment option for straightening teeth. Dr. Hau attaches a series of metal brackets to the front surfaces of the teeth. They hold an archwire in place, which continuously exerts pressure that guides the teeth and jaw into proper alignment. Rubber bands can be attached to the brackets to increase pressure and make treatment more effective in complex cases.

Most patients wear their braces for 18–24 months. Our orthodontics office in Round Rock, TX, features an in-house lab to create customized retainers for braces patients to maintain their results after treatment has been completed.

Damon Clear Braces

Damon® braces use clear ceramic brackets and a thinner wire, which are less noticeable when smiling. 

The Damon system uses a "memory wire" and no rubber ties, so the wire can move freely while the teeth shift. The brackets have an opening and closing mechanism, so appointments to change the wire tend to be much quicker.
